Sunshine Coast Regional Council

The amalgamation of the Noosa, Mroochydore and Caloundra Councils saw the formation of the Sunshine Coast Regional Council which now serves one of the fastest growing (and decidedly most attractive!) regions in Australia.

With an annual budget of over $600M, the council is charged with the task of making substantial progress whilst simultaneously preserving a unique lifestyle for over 300,000 residents and over 2.75 million domestic and international visitors each year.

The Council's passion for a sustainable future is shared by both the businesses and residents who are fiercely proud of being a part of our Sunshine Coast community.

Schools

Immanuel Lutheran College is a K-12 co-educational school located on an idyllic campus just off Wises Road, Maroochydore.

Founded in 1979, Immanuel is the longest established independent school on the Sunshine Coast. With excellent facilities and highly acclaimed academic, pastoral, cultural and sporting achievements, the College has forged a reputation for excellence by focusing on the wellbeing and development of the whole child.

Maroochydore State Primary School is a co-educational school with some 270 students. It first opened in 1923 and offers schooling from Prep to Year 7, along with an Early Childhood Development Centre which supports under age children with multiple disabilities.

Located in Primary School Court, just minutes from the beaches of Maroochydore and Alexandra Headland, the school boasts state-of-the-art ICT facilities and air-conditioned teaching rooms.

Harvey Norman commenced construction of its Superstore along Maroochy Boulevard in April 2010 and once complete almost 74,000sqm of floor space will span the basement, ground and first level. It will feature a large Harvey Norman store and a Domain store along with 4300sqm of compliementary office space, retail space, a possible gym and basement car parking for 855 cars. Sunshine Coast Mazda

Now under construction, the team at Sunshine Coast Mazda are expecting to be open for business in their new showroom in December 2011.
