Development of the PDA will establish Maroochydore as the major economic and employment centre of the Sunshine Coast.

Queensland Government State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning Maroochydore City Centre

The Maroochydore City Centre Priority Development Area (PDA) will create a new central business district for the Sunshine coast, support economic development and build much-needed infrastructure. The development includes commercial, retail and high and medium-density residential development, new road transport, public open space, community facilities and infrastructure. It covers 60 hectares and is located in central Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast, approximately 100 kilometres north of Brisbane CBD.

The PDA covers council-owned landholdings including the former site of the Horton Park Golf Club and private land on Dalton Drive. The PDA was declared on 19 July 2013 at the request of the Sunshine Coast Council. Visit the Sunshine Coast Regional Council for further details on the PDA.
