Existing centre upgrades commence at Sunshine Plaza.

Sunshine Coast, Thursday 17 May 2018:

Sunshine Plaza has today announced circa $40 million will be spent on major refurbishments to the existing centre, bringing a new customer experience to the popular shopping destination. The upgrades include a revitalised Town Square meeting area and Riverwalk precinct, an interactive water play area, refurbished Food Court, and a custom made nautical kids play zone – designed for younger children.

The internal malls will gain ambience upgrades including lighting, landscaping, seating and painting. The bridge link on the ground level will feature two new food and beverage offers located opposite the kids’ play area, both with internal and external seating.

Sunshine Plaza Centre Manager Michael Manwaring said, “The centre’s overall design vision ‘Home is my Holiday’ will be reflected in the refurbishment, bringing the charm of the Sunshine Coast to life. We’ve really considered our customers and our existing retailers by delivering improved covered walkways, new amenities, additional meeting places and new offerings.”

“The design will incorporate coastal themes showcased through material selection and landscaping, retaining the indoor/outdoor elements that resonate so strongly with our local community and customers. Works will commence in the coming weeks, with the majority of works being conducted outside trading hours to minimise disruption to customers.”
