Maroochydore’s new activity hub in spotlight

Maroochydore’s Principal Regional Activity Centre (PRAC) is set to become the business, community and employment hub of the Sunshine Coast.

It’s one of the most exciting projects the region has ever seen and the end result will see Maroochydore recognised as an exciting, dynamic city in which to live, work and play.

The Urban Development Institute of Australia Sunshine Coast branch lunch meeting this month saw Mayor Mark Jamieson provide an overview of how the Maroochydore PRAC will play a vital role in the delivery of the region’s economic development strategy.

Cr Jamieson outlined the significance of the future of Maroochydore to the economic prosperity of the region and its importance for the community not only in terms of growing employment opportunities but also as a means to improve access to facilities and services.

Other guest speakers included Sunshine Coast Council’s urban development manager Mark Salmon, major urban development’s manager Ron Piper and Member for Maroochydore Fiona Simpson.
